Labor Union Fraud, Corruption, and Violence A Brief Introduction One of the most damaging large-scale frauds in the United States is the misuse of union endorsements and mandatory union membership dues to fund the political campaigns of the most extreme socialist and even Marxist political candidates without written permission from each union member. Even though a substantial percentage of union members are Republicans or conservative Democrats and oppose socialism and Marxism, their First Amendment rights are violated and their hard-earned money is taken by force to support opposite views and political agendas. Labor unions throughout the U.S. consistently send out slate mailers at election time telling their members to vote straight Democratic party line, even when the Democratic candidates promote laws and policies that are very damaging to everyone including union members and their families. For example, the Democrats typically promote ever increasing excessive, confiscatory taxes that destroy worker's take-home pay and often force both heads of household to work full-time plus over-time. While union leaders claim they are fighting for employee raises and benefits increases, they support Draconian tax rates that more than offset the pay and benefits increases. Corrupt union leaders even misused millions of dollars of mandatory union membership dues to fund their campaign against the California Paycheck Protection voter initiative which was qualified for the ballot to stop this exact type of abuse! The Paycheck Protection initiative would have required that labor union leaders obtain written permission from a union member before deducting the political campaign portion of the member's union dues from the employee paycheck. Labor unions help elect anti-freedom Democrats who enact laws that shift the power away from union members and business owners into the hands of corrupt union leaders and officials. Such laws allow for qualified workers to be denied jobs if they refuse to join the union or pay union dues. The labor union leaders used a massive false advertising campaign, claiming that businesses were out-spending them by a ratio of ten-to-one. However, the union leaders actually out-spent businesses and their own members by a factor of four-to-one using the union members' money! As another example of union fraud and corruption, the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) teachers union took legal action in an attempt to deny the citizens of the City of Carson their lawful right to vote to secede from the LAUSD and form their own school district with local control so their children could receive an adequate education (July, 2001). Labor unions have also engaged in illegal use of public funds for political campaign purposes, and illegal acts of sabotage, violence, terrorist bombings, and murder including mass murder. Another serious area of union fraud involves police and firefighter unions, which often call themselves "police officer associations" and "firefighter associations". The leaders of these unions often endorse and provide financial and other campaign support for the most liberal soft-on-crime politicians who promote dangerous laws and policies that endanger the lives of the public and the police and firefighters, without allowing the union members to meet the candidates or vote on which candidates will receive union endorsements and financial support! For examples of this, visit the Public Safety Project website, at: http://www.publicsafetyproject.org/elsegundo/index.html. The union bosses often misuse the name of their union and their members' union dues money to support political candidates, laws, and policies that favor massive illegal immigration and amnesty for illegal and criminal aliens, at the great expense of the union members and their families, and our entire nation. Illegal immigration depresses wages and working conditions, and prevents American citizens from competing for many jobs, especially if they do not speak Spanish. Illegal immigration is destroying our country, including our public education and emergency medical care systems, and costing taxpayers and consumers tens of billions of dollars every year. As of 2007, one out of every four (25%) public school students in California speaks Spanish and no English (one out of every two, or 49%, are Hispanic). The Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) alone is spending 19 Billion dollars for new school construction, which will likely total 38 Billion dollars with bond interest, to educate illegal alien children mostly from Mexico but also from other countries. As a result of massive illegal immigration, our country is in a serious state of decline and is taking on many of the characteristics of a third world country. On an increasing basis, hard working tax paying American citizens are being treated like foreigners in their own country by government and businesses, while illegal and criminal aliens are treated as first class citizens at tax payer expense, often with more rights and benefits than real citizens who respect and abide by the law. We are at risk of losing our country, culture, safety, and quality of life as a direct result of the laws and policies of the politicians supported by the Union leaders using union member money and resources to the detriment of everyone including the union members. Why do so many union leaders misuse their members' money and resources, and union endorsements, to support massive illegal immigration and amnesty for illegal and criminal aliens? There are at least two primary reasons. First, the union leaders can support their socialist and Marxist ideology and move our country increasingly closer to socialism and Marxism by importing tens of millions of poor people who do not have the tradititions of freedom and capitalism that America was founded upon. If the illegal aliens are given amnesty and citizenship, they will be more likely to vote for socialist and Marxist candidates who offer them more money and free services at tax payer expense in return for their votes. Historically, such candidates have run as Democrats, but given enough popular support, they can openly run as socialists and communists. A second reason is political corruption and self-enrichment. More workers, especially poor low-wage workers, will result in more union members and more membership dues money for the union leaders to spend to provide themselves and their friends and relatives a wealthy and luxurious lifestyle. They can increase the size of their staff and staff budget, put more friends, relatives, and personal business associates on the union payroll, and have more money for travel and other "expenses". Union leaders, like politicians, increase their power, influence, prestige, and status by spending increasing amounts of other people's money. Many Americans are now questioning whether they are being patriotic or endangering the future of their country by "buying American" products made by union labor. Buying products made by American union labor is increasing the pace at which the U.S. federal, state, and local governments take on the character, laws, and policies of socialist and Marxist dictatorships. Even though this government transition is an incremental process, a sufficiently large number of small increments add up to a massive destabilizing change over periods of decades or fifty to one hundred years. One may properly conclude that it is more patriotic to buy products made in U.S. right-to-work states by non-union labor, or as a second choice, products made in foreign countries that do not use slave labor. Conversely, buying products made by unions controlled by socialist and Marxist leaders may be viewed as a serious act of disloyalty to the present, past, and future generations of Americans when an alternative product is available.
If labor union members do not remove their socialist and Marxist leaders
and reform their unions, they may find that they have undermined their
own freedom, prosperity, and stability.
